And lastly, committed to integrating art, design and visual experimentation. In short, a digital platform that calls for a trans-border collective ingenuity. We started Imagination for People (IP) on two hunches:

1) Endless citizen investment is a vehicle for progress 2) Civil society is becoming increasingly responsible and increasingly enterprising.

And we were soon bombarded with many questions. How do we support the desire to create through and for citizens? How do we go about offering different international communities a fun and ergonomic tool while also providing them with a source of inspiration in the form of mind- blowing social projects that would make them want to:

-help create a positive social impact -design and test innovative connections between citizens, public bodies, and the private sector -create something that is both meaningful and useful?

Today, on June 27, 2011, Imagination for People is making its first strides towards these goals. Explore some 200 social experiments that an initial community of IP “sourcing volunteers” have deemed particularly bold. Their descriptions on the site are just stubs, so don’t hesitate to complete or revise them. We also invite you to identify and describe other projects that are even more inspiring. Phase 1 of Imagination for People is a wiki, but in Phase 2 (end of summer), it will become a social network of initiatives for people who are starting up projects and are concerned about finding a support system of skills, ideas, links and connections.

For now, we’d really appreciate your feedback on the content and structure of this beta version so that we can be readily and constantly improving it. But above all, we just hope that you enjoy exploring this fascinating world of individual and collective creativity that serves both community and humanity.

Welcome to the world of Imagination for People.
